Why Black and White for me?

Black & White is a simple but beautiful element of the Art Form. Recently, I was lying in bed, resting after a surgery; the strong pain killer must have cause hallucination. I could see this black and white pattern flowing through my head. I would like to get up and draw it, but I was too weak to even get up.

Well, at least I got a subject for my Blog. Maybe in the near future I can create something nice in Black and White.

There is a certain grace in Black & White painting compare to colours painting. Because of the simplicity of monochrome colour, it is more relaxing to the eye. The contours and moods are not lost in the chaos of colour.

Skilfully Sketched Pencil, Pen and Ink Painting, Charcoal Painting, are examples of Painting mostly create in Black and White.  Also lots of Chinese Scroll Painting done in BW. India their Folk Painting likes Warli Painting (tribal art work executed in black and white) and  Patachitra paintings of Orissa are also at times created in black and white.

Example of great Black and White painting is done by Pablo Picasso in 1937 (Guernica). It is a huge mural inspired by the Nazi bombing of Guernica in Spain during the Spanish Civil War.

Below is BW painting pictures I gather for this blog, also some of my past pen and ink Art Work that I have done. Enjoy my Blog, for me the simplicity of Black & White art form hopefully could transform into my life. Bring Calmness, no chaos, beautiful days.
